The person behind ThaiHabit

A little curiosity. A whole new language.

Thai is more than a list of words. ThaiHabit brings its sounds, script and everyday use into the same learning experience.

I wanted a conversation. Not another phrase list.

Founder-story draft — the personal experiences below still need Julian’s confirmation.

At first, I thought a few useful phrases would be enough. I could remember what a word meant, but when I heard it in a conversation, it suddenly felt unfamiliar. And the Thai script? That was the part I kept putting off.

What frustrated me was the gap between the pieces: words in one place, tones in another and letters that still did not quite connect to the sound. I wanted to understand why a word sounded the way it did, not just hope I was saying it right.

That became the idea for ThaiHabit: bring those pieces together. Listen to a word, get to know its written form, practise it and come back to it. An app built around understanding the language, not just collecting translations.

The details I care about

01

Understanding, not just recognition

Connect what you hear with what you read. Practise recalling a word as well as recognising it.

02

A little practice that fits

Choose time for a focused session. Return to familiar words and build from there.

03

A calmer place to learn

Ad-free learning, useful feedback and room to concentrate on Thai.

There is a person behind this app. If something feels confusing, a lesson could be better or you have an idea, I would like to hear it.
